I really don't like cake in general...unless it's homemade. However, my friend had a Stop & Shop cake at her engagement party a few weeks ago (it was my first time having S&S cake), and I thought it was amazing!

I've gotten cakes from Waldbaum's and they are delicious! Never had a S&S Cake before.

I just had some cupccakes from S&S and they were actually pretty good. I also had a cupcake from a fancy bakery owned by a renowned baker and it was TERRIBLE. The worst I've ever had. S&S was so much better!

I have to say, I think S&S cakes are terrible. Which stinks for me because S&S is the only nice supermarket around me. I used to live near Waldbaums and they have much better cakes. Also, Costco has the BEST cakes!! I mean it. So if you know anyone with a costco membership, use them to buy a cake there!!

I love Stop & Shop cakes! We use them for all our parties, and we always get compliments on them. So yummy!

They are really good, much better than your average bakery cake, but it depends on which S&S you go to. Not all the locations have bakeries on premises, and it of course depends on who makes it!

I don't like most cakes from bakeries (store or independent) because they often use palm oil which has a very conspicuous taste to me. That said - Stop and Shop is (to me) as good as almost any other mass bakery.

We always do Waldbaums cakes and they come out great and everyone raves!
We also like BJs cakes.

I ordered one from S&S to bring to a restaurant on Easter ( it's how we announced we're expecting ) and it was delicious!!! And nice and neat.

i used to order from waldbaums ....but we just ordered one for my dd first birthday ....i pick it up this sunday ...fingers crossed ...i felt ok about it till i read some of these posts ...i hope i can come back and leave a positive feedback . :)

We had them once or twice at family parties. They taste like Costco cakes, if you have ever had those. We recently had their Strawberry Shortcake sheet cake for a party and that was really good.
