Stomach bug/Virus question...
If your DC was sick this past winter, how long were they sick for?
My DD threw up sat, and has had a fever and little diarrhea since then....I'm trying to figure out how "far" out I should plan for in terms of someone being home with her. A few days was manageable, but now I really need to catch up with school/work stuff
Oh and can I complain that this snow just adds more annoyance to everything! We got 2ft in the past 24hrs

I usually go with 24 hours after the last fever and or throw up. In my experience diarrhea can stay around a lot longer but they aren't really sick.

Re: Stomach bug/Virus question...
My DD gets the stomach bug every six months like clock work. Hers are always very severe- to the point where she needs to be on anti-nausea meds so she doesn't have to be hospitalized. That being said- her last bug only lasted 3 full days and she was back to preschool.

Re: Stomach bug/Virus question...
When my DD had the stomach bug it lasted for like 5 days. 5 days of diahrehha and refusing all solids- but she only puked once on the first day. No fever. Ped said at that age (she was 6 months) it can take 7-10 days to leave their systems.

Re: Stomach bug/Virus question...
Hmmm...thanks everyone.
This morning she had a fever of 103, but she hasn't thrown up since Saturday. I'm just alternating motrin/tylenol and giving her liquids.
I hope today or tomorrow is it, because 5 days now is seeming like forever!
