Step 2 roller coaster: "up and down" or "extreme"??

We are leaning toward getting one of these for DS for Christmas. He will be 3 in March.

Any feedback on either of these? Which would be more age appropriate??

Thanks!!

Extreme. DS (22 months) played on it at a cousin's house this summer and loved it. We will be getting one before next summer.

Go for the extreme....we bought our 1 year old the up and down and she uses it totally independently, so I'm sure a 3 year old would love the bigger one!

Damn you people. I now have to get this for dd's bday. Hopefully I can find a Black Friday deal as I can't justify the price.

I hope for this too but I am pretty sure its very rare they go on sale the cheapest I have seen it is on walmart.com.

also I have come to conclusion that I am a baby I don't think I would have ever let my 2 year old on the extreme I would be too scared Chat Icon Chat Icon

We got the up and down when my oldest was 3. It still gets tons if use from her (now 7) and our other 2 who are 2 and 4. I'll have to look into the extreme one though.

Thanks all! To those that have the extreme, do you just leave it set up outside all year? Is it something easily stored or will this be a permanent fixture in my yard for the foreseeable future ?

Currently, the best price is on the Step2 website ($259.99). Shipping is only $2.99 (not sure how long that will last).

My 2 year old thinks she's 7 like her big sister, so I have no concerns about her going on it! Chat Icon

I just ordered the Extreme for my almost 2 year old's upcoming birthday.

FYI, it's been a HUGE hit. My 7 year old and her friends love it just as much as (if not more than!) my 2 year old. Such a great toy!

Re: Step 2 roller coaster: "up and down" or "extreme"??

I want to get the extreme too. My DS's school and the children's museum all have the up and down and all the kids use and love it, but if you are looking for bang for you book. I'd go for extreme. DS used the extreme when he was 2 and 1/2 and it was actually easier for him to reset up by himself because of the way it's built with the steps.
