ok so according to the information provided by my ped I can start adding fruit to the cereal at month 5 and then at month 6 start with veggies.

how long is cereal given for?

do i have to mix the fruit with the cereal or can i just give it by itself?

i bought jars of earths best, bc that's what i will prob use a majority of the time, but what about giving her avocado or banana?
do i mix it with formula after i mash it?

guidance please!

Dd is 8 months and still has cereal
I dont think there is a right or wrong on mixing or not - When we first started her on fruits and veggies I opted to keep it separate - I wanted her to get used to the taste without the cereal. Around 7 months she starts to not eat the cereal so I mixed in the foods at that point

you can mix, or not mix the fruit. it's up to you and what your dd prefers.
cereal can be given i'm sure for as long as your child likes it and will eat it. it's not going to hurt them.
for me, dd refused all fruit and baby cereal until about 8-9 months old. she would ONLY eat veggies.
even now at 11.5 months, she will only eat pear puree and applesauce, no other fruits (except now pieces of melon and kiwi).
it's all trial and error.
you can definitely mash up banana or avocado and mix it with water or formula until you get it to a smooth consistency to try.
for me, i could never get banana as smooth as jarred banana... but dd hated it regardless, so it didn't matter. and avocado she gagged profusely.

At first I usually mixed the fruit with oatmeal just so she didn't get used to things being too sweet. It's totally up to you though. I gave oatmeal until at least 9-10 months I think.

You can mix the avocado with formula, bm, or water. I always made my oatmeal with water so I just mashed the banana, then added the cereal and water until it was a good consistency.

There's no right or wrong way. You don't have to necessarily wait until 6 months for veggies either.

I'd wait a little on the fresh banana and avocado, unless you plan on making it into a puree. (But then why not just use purees and save yourself the effort?) Both will be a bit chunkier and you probably have to wait until the baby is a little better at easting before you give those. I'd give fresh banana mashed up and watered down to DS, then slowly used less water. At 8 months he started just eating regular pieces of banana with his hands. He wasn't a fan of avocado at first, but I tried it again last weekend and he seems to be better. I think it's the texture.
