starting foods, fruits and veggies
does anyone have a list of the order in which you should introduce the fruits and veggies or does it really not matter
most of my friends said they got a list of a certain order to start these foods but their kids are older now and they don't have it anymore, my dr didn't give me one

Re: starting foods, fruits and veggies
according to my Ped, it doesnt really matter as long as you stick with the same fruit or veggie for 3 days to rule out allergy
we are doing this -
sweet potato squash carrot peas
banana apple sauce pears peaches prunes

Re: starting foods, fruits and veggies
We just talked about this at the ped today in fact. He said that when doing fruits and veges to start with veges since if you start with something sweet they may not like the taste of veges after that. He said green veges first, then yellow/orange veges, then fruits.

Re: starting foods, fruits and veggies
Our ped never gave us an order. She just said stick to Stage 1 fruits and veggies and to wait a few days before starting a new one for potential allergic reaction. Everyone has a different way of doing it- it's your call! We kind of alternated fruit/veggie, but there are way more stage 1 fruits than veggies, so we kind of did like 2 fruits, then a veggie, then 2 fruits, etc.
edited for typos bc I'm tired

Re: starting foods, fruits and veggies
We did veggies first because I didn't want him to like the sweet fruits and then not want to eat veggies.
We did:
Sweet potato Carrot Butternut Squash Acorn Squash Banana Avocado (hated it, only thing he's hated) Apples Plums Pears
Can't remember what else.
I still have to do green veggies with him. I'm a little nervous about them (I make all of his food and I feel like they'll be hard to make).

Our ped never gave us an order.
For both of my DD's and now the littlest DD we are starting with the cereal first(oatmeal) and then we go to veggies and then fruits.
We start around 4 months and by 5 months i plan on having her on 1 bowl of oatmeal with a fruit mixed in and then the veggies at dinner.
Once she gets a little older we will introduce the third meal.

Re: starting foods, fruits and veggies
We were told to start yellow and orange veggies first.. then green.. then fruit. That's just so they don't get a taste for the fruit and want nothing else.. but, we did yellow and orange then alternated between a yellow and orange fruit and then a veggie and then green stuff. Liam is fine and loves fruits and veggies.

This is what we did, but we also gave DS green beans. After going through the above list, we started to add more food (ie. corn, apricots, mango).
