Started potty training today....have a question

DD has stated she wanted to wear big girl panties, so since we have a 3-day weekend, we felt this was as good a time as any. She is 32-months old.

Today was typical - lots of trips to the potty for #1& #2. She had 3 accidents, but we continued the positive reinforcement.

My question comes with night-time. She seems afraid to go to sleep. We stopped liquids by 630 for an 830 bedtime. She has been up 20 times (no exaggeration) to do little drops in the toilet. She's still up in her room, but laying down. How do we convince her it's ok to go to sleep? DH is at his wits end with the # times we have been up there to put her on the potty. I'm trying to stay as positive as possible, but even I'm getting exhausted, but I'm also 5.5 months pregnant.

That sounds great for day 1. My DD is potty trained since 28 months, but we used pull-ups at night. (We never used a pull-up during the day-we went straight from diapers to undies). She still gets up at least twice before falling asleep to pee. Most nights she stays all dry, but every once in awhile the pull-up is wet in the morning, so I haven't stopped using them yet. She is 100% daytime trained since October though. I would say to focus more on the daytime training, and not stress about nighttime yet.

We didn't even try for night time. We just told her she wears a diaper at night just in case & in the morning we change her into panties.
She's so bad at falling asleep as it is so I didn't want the potty to be another excuse for her to stay up
I don't care if she's still in diapers at night til she's 7 as long as she goes to sleep!

Same for us at night - we use a pull up at night. We just trained him 2 weeks ago and I knew he wasn't ready for night time just because his diaper was always wet in the morning when I'd change him. When he starts staying consistently dry in the morning, then we'll try underwear at night.

Is she normally dry in diapers through the night? If yes, I would tell her, that we go pee pee before bed and that the moment she feels like she is waking up she should walk to the bathroom and go potty. If she is not waking up dry, then I would keep a night time pull up on her and tell her to try to go potty when she feels it. That you want her to go to sleep so her body can wake her up when she needs to go but if she stays up too long she may not feel her body want to wake up to go potty.

We used pull ups at night. Told DD they were " night time underwear".
She always woke up dry but we used them for a few weeks just in case. The first few nights were torture and exhausting. DD was up evey hour saying she had to go potty. I put her on the potty and most of the time it was a few drops or nothing. I explained that if she had to go pee pee that's she had to let it all out, not to stop it. I swear she has the strongest kiegel muscles ever. Lol.
I think it it was more she was fascinated about going on the potty and that she was able to wake us up all night long. As tired as I was I stayed positive with her.
It lasted a few days and she got over it.
