Starbucks, did you know?

That they will give you 10 cents off your coffee if you bring in your own cup? They will also provide refills for 50 cents in-store if you bring your own cup.

Their cups are also made out of 10% recycled material which doesn't sound like a lot. But multiply that by the trillions of cups sold a day and it's a big impact.

They will also give you spent coffee grounds if you ask for them and a lot of the stores have a bin by the door where you can take them yourself.

Used coffee grounds are a good source of nitrogen and will increase the pH of the soil which is good for things like veggies, roses... I plan on using them in compost with my fall leaves. I know I don't drink enough coffee at home to warrant that many grounds. So Starbucks can keep me in supply. Chat Icon

Someone I know said it depends on the size... You should call them and find out why that one cup is free.

The girl I spoke to this morning (in the one in Smith Haven mall) said that you don't have to have a Starbucks cup to get this stuff either.

So maybe it is about size.
