Springer Spaniels for adoption
I hate having to do this, but we really have no other option. We had to put our house up for sale for financial reasons, and we are moving to an apartment complex. We currently have 3 dogs, and we are allowed to take 1 with us to the new place. Our oldest dog is 13 and feel he is the one who has to stay with us. Our 2 other dogs are both purebreed English Springer Spaniels. Copper, the male is 10 and Lola the female is 3. Both are intact and in great health. For those who don't know about the breed, they are very energetic dogs who need a lot of exercise. They love to run around the yard after each other. They actually both think that they are tiny little lap dogs and love to cuddle on the couch. If you know of anyone that might be looking to adopt, please let me know. I know there is a Springer rescue on LI, but I figured I would post here first. Sorry about the bad pictures of Copper....he doesn't sit still for the camera!!!

Re: Springer Spaniels for adoption
There is an English Springer Spaniel Rescue Club of Long Island. I used to be involved with it years ago when I had my springer. The people are wonderful and I am sure will be able to work with you. You can find the numbers and information you need on this website. Good luck.

Sorry, I re-read your post and saw you are aware of the club.

Re: Springer Spaniels for adoption
I'm so sorry for your troubles My parents have always had Springers and they are nursing their 14 year old one right now who has tumors. I wish they lived in the US because I know they would take both in a heartbeat.
They are a wonderful, loving breed. I will keep my eyes and ears open for anyone who might be looking to adopt.

Re: Springer Spaniels for adoption
Thank you everyone for your kind words... We are planning on contacting the Springer rescue group if we don't find them a home within the next few weeks.
