Spring Forward!
Don't forget to change your clocks Saturday night/Sunday morning an hour ahead.
Change your smoke/carbon monoxide detectors batteries too....

At minimum you should have one on each floor of your house. We also have one in each bedroom. Get one!

Do you rent or own? If you rent, I'm pretty sure your landlord must provide them by law.

14 years ago, my family and I almost died in an overnight house fire - we had no working detectors. First responders said we had minutes to live when they pulled us out.
Please make it a priority today to at least get one for each level of your home, including your basement.

Spring Forward!
Our smoke alarm decided the battery was low at 1am last night and it was a scary sound to wake up to! We thankfully have a maintenance crew 24 hours a day so someone came up, but not before DH went out to get a battery. Fun middle of the night! Definitely would be better to just change them once a year. It's a great idea to do it when you spring forward.

I remember you saying this months ago regarding the fire that killed a bunch of people. Why don't you have one? They are cheap, and don't need to be hardwired in. It could SAVE your LIFE!

That is just dumb. Make that your first priority today! You can get one for less then $10 at Home Depot.

Landlords are required to make sure you have them, but for less then $10 it is silly not to just get one yourself , instead of waiting around for someone else.

Super important!
You can even have them hooked up to your home alarm system (if you have one). Ours is, so if any carbon monoxide/fire/smoke is detected, help will be on the way.

We have a few throughout the house, and some of them speak when their batteries are low. I was taking out some wash, and all of a sudden I heard a woman's voice talking to me...scared me to death!

I'm sorry but this is just disgusting. They are cheap. Helll i'll mail you some.
May 26, 2013 my grandfather died in a house fire that destroyed my mom's house as well. I should have been there but wasn't. The guilt I felt from that, the guilt I STILL feel for not being there is haunting. GET A FLUCKING SMOKE DETECTOR.

Spring Forward!
Thank you everyone. I don't have a reason why I don't have one, or one that will go over well. I have not had one in years, every year I mean to get one but just never get around to it.
