Spotting at 12 weeks..updated

I am 12 weeks, and last night i had horrible cramps, slept through them, woke up today with a lot of brown blood. of course im freaking out, waiting to hear from the dr on call, Anyoen have spotting aroud this time?? My last sono was at 8 weeks, and Monday is my ultrascreen.

update: Called Dr. this AM, had me go to SB for sonogram since office was closed. Everything looked great! we got to see the baby doing flips, waving to us and so forth! Heard the heartbeat as well. Seems the spotting was from being dehydrated. If you become dehydrated, often not enough fluid for uterus to stretch, causing bleeding. What a relief..thanks for all the well wishes!

yes...in fact prior to this pregnancy and board I dk it was so common.
I can only tell u it can be many things, a placenta issue, a blood sac., many things and it can be ok.
I will tell u what my doc told me,. if the blood gets bad--stays bad--gets bright red and u are off your feet-call immed.
Otherwise hang in there! I did and it was ok!

brown blood is old and usually OK. It could be from sex if that was recent?

thats what happend to me at 12 weeks, I had some brown spotting for 3-4 days... when I went to the doctor she couldnt find anything wrong, she said sometimes it just happens... stay positive

brown blood is old blood i wouldnt worry.. i had red blood at 11 weeks but the sono was ok. keep us u pdated. it could have been like an old period or something just keep your legs up and dont lift anything

Like other's have said, brown blood is usually old blood. I had some bright red spotting early on. A cause was never determined. If you are RH negative, you should ask your doctor about a shot of Rhogam to be on the safe side.

i am glad everything is ok, drink plenty of water, i put a lemon in mine to give it some flavor...
