spotting after sex at wk. 25....
Is this normal? I know later on it is but I thought it was a litttle early to have such softening of the cervix. Any info greatly appreciated.

Yes totally normal. You can spot at any time! As long as its not a a lot of red blood and no cramping your fine.

I had spotting in week 14 after sex and a day of vigorous other activities -- it was red and persisted for several hours, but I would not describe it as heavy. (it was like the first day of my period -- a panty liner type flow)
We went to the ER anyway, just in case and found out I had placenta previa.
I would let you doctor know -- even though its probably normal.
