spinoff to those in hiding...
when did you come out in real life? to extended family, friends, co-workers, etc? did you make a public facebook announcement or just tell a few people and let word of mouth take care of the rest?

told my mom and sister right away
told ILs @ 8 weeks
told my dad @ 9 weeks
a few close friends know, but we are going to tell extended family and the rest of our good friends at 12 weeks. then I will just let the news travel on its own.

Told my parents and DH's parents right away. Told some family at 10 weeks, just because it was Thanksgiving and everyone was there and I was huge from the progesterone injections.
Told the rest of the family over Christmas at 14 weeks, and told friends as I saw them over the next month or so.
Finally came out on facebook after the Level II (wasn't sure about doing that, but also didn't want to send a mass email to all the friends I don't talk to on a regular basis).
I was really nervous though, so I know that my time frame is probably a little wacky.

told parents and siblings at 6w
told close friends between 7w-11w (wanted to tell as many people as we could in person)
told work at 8w (was feeling sick and coming in late alot didn't want my immediate co-workers to think i was a slacker)
told grandparents around 8w (wanted to tell in person)
basically just told people as we saw them.
didn't come out on facebook until like week 21-22 or something like that...just because no real reason

told one close friend the second I POAS.
told close family at 4-5w (during the holidays).
told my boss at 13w
told friends and extended family at 13.5w
told a few coworkers and came out on facebook at 15w
stopped trying to hide it/actually acknowledged it at work around 17w?

I'm going to be 5w tomorrow and our parents know and a few friends. No extended family or big family friends yet I plan to tell them (if I can hold out) around 12 weeks, but I might tell them sooner. I don't want to tell to many people until we see a heartbeat next week.
As for work, I plan to wait as long as possible to tell them hoping for 12 weeks +

I told one friend right away. DH too.
Told some family at 8 weeks.
Planning on telling everyone on FB after our 12 week sono on May 2nd.
