I don't mind, except that I am not extremely happy with how I look at the moment. Otherwise, we can't walk around with plastic bags over our faces. 'Thousands of people see us every day, so what's the big deal about a picture.

I don't worry about pics on the internet...I wouldn't have a myspace account if I did.

I'm kinda new here, and I sincerely hope no one doubts that I'm real, but I am hesitant to post pics. I'll post honest answers to certain posts, and if I ever need to, I'd feel comfortable posting honest, heartfelt things here, but if I thought I'd be recognized, I might hold back a bit. I'm not worried about people here holding things against me, but what if DH's college roommate's wife saw me b*tching about his friends...or something stupid like that. Or if his stepmother saw me complaining about my inlaws. It could lead to all sorts of repurcussions. I am always completely honest and truthfull in my posts, but I don't want pics of myself out there. Sometimes, without meaning to, things get too personal, and the reåson I like this site is that it CAN be anonymous, but I can still get honest and caring opinions on stuff, and I can give them, too.

Pictures alone don't do a whole lot of damage. I don't plan on taking mine down.
BUT when they are added to:
the town you live in
the year you graduated high school
what pediatrician you use
your DH/DC's name
where you shop the most
when you are home alone
where you and DH work
where you gave birth
what classes/daycare your child goes to
etc, etc,
that information can be put together and be dangerous IF someone decided to take the time.
Likely, no, but still scary at the possibilty.
So while I plan on leaving up my pictures, I'm going to be more careful about the aggregate of information I give away publicly.

Anyone can know that stuff about you. Heck, each and every one of my neighbors know all of that about me and we don't know each other personally.

See... the post from Mysticpizza - or whatever his name is- reminded me why I don't post pictures.
Jess, you mentioned checking this guy out at Walmart. Now in my very overactive imagination I would be afraid that (1) he is a little psycho- which his posts are definitely not refuting- and (2) if I would walk in there, there is a chance he could remember me from my pic here.
Now I know the chances are next to nothing that this is realistic, but I have read way to many books about psychos. So I feel a little better knowing that I am pretty anonymous.

If I thought I looked better in pictures, I would have no problem posting pictures of myself. I just don't like the way I look in pictures.
To be honest, (this is going to sound terrible) I am pretty self centred, but I am not that self centred that I think someone is going to single me out to come and find me and abuse me, and to be honest, the odds of something like that happening are slim to none.
Nassau county alone is 287 square miles and there are 4650 people living in every single one of those square miles. They will have a lot of people to go through to come and find me.

I dont mind posting pics. Most of the pics I post are on the home board of my house. I dont post many of myself. No particular reason.
I dont mind sharing certain things (city I live in, the builder for my house, city where I work)
I m just a little cautious at what I do post. I try not to post people's names or a lot of details of mine or others personal life.
