Spinoff to peanut allergy
If your DC has/had ezcema, should you have the tested for peanut allergies?
Dd2 has ezcema, it's gotten better since birth. She's 11 months now. She's had pb and I didn't notice a reaction, but she's only had it twice

Spinoff to peanut allergy
Not necessarily. Even if she was tested (scratch test and/or blood test) those can come back positive, but nothing is as definitive as actual ingestion. If she's eaten it with no issues, I think you're ok. Just keep an eye out for subtle signs since she's so young (immediate runny nose, wheezing, hives, etc).

Thank you. I knew about hives and wheezing, but not about the runny nose. One time she did get red blotchy but she was also teething and upset from that.
Anything else I should look out for?

If you want to rule out certain things just for peace of mind then you can take her to an allergist, I took DS to Dr. Strauss when he was around a year old, (when we were transitioning to milk and he had a bad reaction). I think he has a location in Commack which may be close to you.

Kind of during. But she was crying bc she was also in teething pain. She's like me that when we get upset we get red and blotchy.
I'm going to do it again and watch. We don't have allergies in the family and dd1 doesn't. I was just linking it to ezcema she has had since birth, but that's also gotten better

We don't have food allergies in the family either and my second child has no allergies at all, so you, unfortunately, can't go by those things. Definitely try again and watch.
We also see Dr. Strauss. He's great.

Hmmm...I don't know...
My son had horrific, raging eczema for just about two years, from birth to 2 (he's 5 now), and at the time we didn't know there was a connection between food allergies and eczema. It turns out he had a reaction to eggs, was tested for eggs around 1 and was allergic. A year later, when the time came to try peanuts, we got a script for further allergy bloodwork first, but before I got a chance to take him, he grabbed a tiny bit of candy with a tiny bit of peanut in it, and boom, had a reaction. Bloodwork confirmed "max" allergy to peanuts.
However, the best test for an allergy is ingestion, and in the absence of a reaction, she should be ok to eat peanuts, or whatever the food is. So, for example, my son also tested positive for soy, milk, and wheat, but was and is able to eat these things. So long story short, you could end up depriving her of eating things she's fine to eat.
But I'm no expert, so take that for what it's worth...

I just gave her pb again at lunch and no reaction. I think I was more anxious with the connection with ezcema to food allergies. Reading up on it though 1/3 of babies with ezcema have food allergies, so the vast majority of 2/3 do not.

I've seen dr strauss too. My dd came up allergic to absolutely nothing but would often break out in a rash while eating something, after eating something and after touching things in the back yard. It always seemed to happen when her eczema Was bad.
Last sept I cut out dairy for 3mos, reset her body, and slowly reintroduced it back in. She has 1-2 dairy items a week. Like pizza at a bday party or ice cream. Since September she hasn't been sick this year (maybe once w a cough for 2 days) and she hasn't had ANY eczema. She's had some dry skin this winter but that's because she screams bloody murder if she even sees lotion.
I attribute it to the lack of dairy which is incredibly inflammatory. We use coconut milk and ice cream and she loves them.
