spinoff to my toddler staying in there bed post
What do you do if they keep saying they're scared? Do you keep putting them back in there own bed? Let them sleep in your bed? Lie with them in there bed till they fall asleep? This is an on going thing, every night! I don't want to ignore the fact that she's telling me she's scared but I don't know if she's trying to play me for a fool

I'm no help because they're both in my bed but if she's saying she scared maybe you could buy her something like a teddy bear and tell her that it'll keep her safe. Worth a shot :)

Tried that  she wanted a dreamlite, so we got it for her and she said she would stay in her bed, but it didn't work She has a teddy bear, wolf, and hello kitty in bed with her to "protect her", not working. I even got holy water from my MIL and my DD helped me sprinkle it in her room, didn't work either. I'm so at a loss of what to do. I don't want her to be scared, because I was as a kid and my mom would get mad at me if I woke her up  I want my daughter to be able to come to me, but I am lost of idea's on how to help her.

Did you try a lamp on? I read a story and used to sit in my DDs room every night until she feel asleep. Now about 1 year later, I read the story, and leave, telling her I would keep checking on her every few mins instead of staying.

Did you try a lamp on? I read a story and used to sit in my DDs room every night until she feel asleep. Now about 1 year later, I read the story, and leave, telling her I would keep checking on her every few mins instead of staying.
we have night lights, but I'll try leaving a little lamp on also. I read to her in her bed till she falls asleep, but a few hours later she is up coming out telling me she's scared...

I'm in the same boat. DS is 3 1/2. Tried everything including the dreamlite. Still says he's scared. Gate wouldn't work for me either. I stay in his bed til he falls asleep after that when he wakes up he's allowed in my room but NOT my bed. On the floor of my room I have one of those kiddie couches that flips open to a bed. He ends up sleeping on that every night. But he must start the nightin his own room and bed. IIt's not ideal but it's better now that I'm not fighting with him every night and at least he's not in my bed. I'm hoping it's a phase he will just grow out of

I was using nightlights but they were making scary shadows since they were down low in the outlets. My DD told me about the shadows. So now I leave a small lamp on and there are no shadows.

we check for bad guys every night.
He has a night light in his room.
He also has a flash light in his room he can use.
but yes we bring him back into his room each time. We reassure him over and over again.

thanks for all the suggestions. I'm going to try everything that was suggested, except for the little pull out couch on the floor. I'll leave that for the last possible resort. I know she'd be ok with coming in and sleeping on that, but I really want to try and get her comfortable with her room first

I think it was on pinterest, where a mom made a "monster spray" its just a spray bottle with water and they would walk around the room spraying it to make sure no monsters come. Thought it was cute maybe worth a try?

Oh yeah saw that! Cute idea!
Your DD may not actually be scared she might be using that as an excuse because she knows it works. But I totally get how you feel...hope you can find something that works
