spinoff to learning to walk shoes -- I have a ?

My dd is going to be 9m on the 22nd, for the past few weeks all she wants to do is stand and try and walk (while holding things of course).. Shes actually pretty good, shes making it pretty far while holding on to my fingers and still hasnt stood by herself yet, but is getting stronger each day with it.

Should i be looking into shoes for her? Or is she still to young.

i think she is still to young and honestly they learn to walk better barefooted then they do with shoes on. I bought my dc her first shoes when she was extremely comfortable walking barefooted and was able to get from point A to point B unassistated.

My DC was always barefoot in the house, I think this is a big reason why he started walking (with out holding on to anything) at 9 monhts old. I think shoes makes it harder on them.

My ped said they only need shoes if they are outdoors.

ITA and I did the exact same thing.

When they learn to stand, they have to learn to balance and they do that with their toes grip the floor and try to balance, that's why barefoot is bestChat Icon

my DS is doing the same thing - he'll be 9m on the 20th. My mom keeps insisting on getting him shoes. I am going to call the PED I think.

Wait for the shoes. Barefoot is best until they are really walking. For all you know, it could be months from now & her shoe size will definitely change in that amount of time.

The doctor told me that barefoot is best. When she is REALLY walking, then go for the shoes.
