Spinoff to installing carseat base - if this is your second child!

I didn't even think about installing the carseat base in advance, oops!

I have a 2 year old in a rear facing Britax that's installed in the middle. I assumed that when baby comes I will move his seat to behind the driver and install the baby's carseat behind the passenger.

If this is your second child, are you installing the baby's carseat base ahead of time? Or waiting until baby comes or like a week before due date etc?

I didn't want to move DS' seat too early because in the RF position it takes up so much room unfortunately, so the driver can't put the seat back all the way which will suck for DH. I do want to get it inspected though so hmmmm...

DD will be just about 2 when the baby comes. I will be putting her forward facing, behind the driver a few weeks prior (we only ride in the car on the weekends really).

Again, just a small step so she doesn't feel shafted or displaced in any way by the baby.

We are going to do it probably in the next week or two (baby coming 4/10). I've been putting it off bc I hate having to move the boys.

I'll put it in by 37 w because I went into labor with dd at 37w5d. I am debating on turning dd ff she will be 21 months or keeping it rf. She will be going behind the driver side and the new baby behind the passanger side.
