Spinoff to "I can't believe" post

I know this has been done before but since we have so many new mommies on the boards now, I thought it might be helpful. So, lets post about our general experiences being parents. Is it all you thought it would be? Harder? Easier?

I'll start:
Being a mommy is SO much harder than I thought it would be. Especially as a working mom. And, as soon as I thought I was getting into a groove with DS, everthing would change with a grown spurt, or going back to work, or general adjusting, and I had to start all over again! There is much more trial and error that I thought there would be. While parenting is very difficult, it is definately the most rewarding, undescribable experience I've ever had in my life. Nothing compares to the love I have for my son. Truely a blessing from God.

With the first year under our belt I feel like a different person. Physically, mentally, emotionally. The trials for us were not so much with DS, he was a great baby and boy we got lucky with him; but even the best baby puts a 'strain' on the two clueless adults he gets assigned to.
We were on each other's last nerve for much of the first six months. You know it's natural, normal, and will get better but it S*CKS when you feel like you want to strangle your partner for most of your waking hours.
He's a great dad, he just didn't quite get the demands of taking care of little dude ALL DAY ALL NIGHT, ALL WEEKENDS ALL HOLIDAYS, etc etc. so was let's say less than helpful for a bit there.
We talked A LOT and grew up A LOT and today I think we're in pretty good shape, but it was HARD. No doubt about it.
