Spinoff to going off BCP - and using an ovulation kit
The first month off AF took 59 days, then the next time 47 days. My question is do you think it is a waste of money to buy those ovulation kits that only have a 7 day kit in it. I wouldn't even know when to start and I am guessing those are for people that are generally on a 28 day cycle. Is there anything else I can do to figure out when I ovulate?

I have had super long cycles as well... i had bought a few of the 7 day kits when there was an awesome sale at Ekerd- i was using them wrong at first, then figured it out and by chance randomly caught my o-date- now knowing that and doing the math, my O-day was almost exactly 2 weeks before AF arrived- so just do the math backwards- start testing maybe 3 weeks before your next expected AF - I would do it assuming AF was coming in 47 or less days...

If your cycles are that long I would ask your Dr for CD 3 testing-even though you just came off the pill-that is pretty long-sometimes the pill can mask issues

i was never regular before the pill
now i stopped the pill in august and got AF september 27 (about 51 days)
now im on CD 31- No "O" yet

What is CD 3 testing? And do you count the day you get your period as day 1 of your cycle or the next day?

Sorry I just saw this-1st day of full bleeding is CD 1. CD 3 tests are done on CD 3 and is fsh, LH and estrogen. You can search the term on google and get full explanations. GL

i had this done on friday, hopefully i dont hae PCOS so i will get results this week

You can get 10-packs of ovulation kits at Costco for a reasonable price. Also, there are lots of internet sites that sell cheap OPKs so that may be an option as well.
