Spinoff to FL Keys
It sounds like a lot of you guys have been there based on that other thread.
Would your suggestions stay the same if you added in that you needed a kid friendly place to stay?

I don't see Key West as a kid friendly destination. Is that to say no one brings kids, of course not. But it's much more of an adult playground. I'm sure other areas of the keys are much better, but I've never been, so I'm not exactly sure.

ITA.
I know people who have brought kids though and have had a good time.

Hmmm interesting... I want a tropical vacation but in the US
I thought I found a perfect location.
Are any of the islands more family friendly? It doesn't have to be Key West.

Is it because you don't want to go somewhere that requires a passport? If so, US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico are options.

Agree with hawks cay. The beaches are terrible in key west. You really won't be swimming in the water. I suggest looking into FL. Maybe Marco island, Clearwater, even Vero beach. I live in FL, so our little getaways are usually these spots. There's a an awesome hotel we stay at in vero 2-3x a year. It's a relaxing beach/pool getaway. And the Disney vero hotel is 10 mins down the road, you can go there for a character breakfast/meals, and not be a guest there.

Also, maybe look into some of the Florida Gulf coast islands like Sanibel Island or Marco Island - very family friendly
