spinoff to downpayment on your home
what was the asking price of your new home and how much did you end up paying for it? also where the heck did all you ladies get allll this money  we must be doing something wrong! i might just rob a bank

Our house was originally listed for at $475. but had been just reduced to $445 - which was still out of our price range. We bid $360 and pizzed off the owner because similar houses were selling for way more and there were no real structural challenges. We came up to 375 on the condition they got rid of an old shed in the backyard. They came back at $390 - and we keep the shed. We settled ultimately on $385. A few months later we got a HELOC and the appraised value was much higher than our buying price so even though we were over what we originally hoped to pay.. we were still psyched!
We put $100 down.. but the money mostly came from my mother's estate. After she died she left all of her monies to my siblings and myself. I thank her everyday.

245,900 we setteled at 237,500
-and we didnt put anything down, were using a va loan. Believe me we dont have ANY extra money either i dont know how ppl come up with it!

We bought our first house almost 6 years ago. It was listed at $355,500. There were 6 other people bidding at the same time. We won, but paid full price.
The house we are buying now was listed at $525,00, but we got it for $515,00.

House was listed for $390,000 b/c they had to sell ASAP (husband was transfered OOS) so we knew going in that it was priced to sell, there were a few other offers on the house (it was listed for only 6 days) We offered full price but the appraisal came back low b/c there was no similar house in the area that sold recently so the owners had to lower the price to match the appraisal so we got it for $375,000

listed $499,000 - we paid $455,000. Offered $440,00 - they countered $475,000 - we met in the middle.
We put down $80K. We were lucky - we were able to live off of my salary and bank DH's entire salary even while paying for a wedding and HM.

We bought my parents house so it did not go on the market. We had it appraised and paid $8,000 less than the appraisal.
This was in 1996 so not even going to SAY how much we paid--
Oh and we put down 37%.
