spinoff to daycare gift post... nanny/babysitter
What gifts do you give nanny?
my babysitter is always giving DS gifts -- xmas, easter, even valentines day!
I give a gift for xmas, chocolate for vday, and flowers for mothers day so far. Do you give any other gifts?

Wow - that's a lot of gifts to give her! We only give our sitter a gift at the holidays (she's Jewish, we're Christian so we don't call it a Christmas or Hannukah gift, just a gift), and a birthday gift from all of us.

I was a full time nanny for 17 years. I got a holiday and birthday gift. I use to give the kids little things for the other holidays and usually they would make me a card which was awesome! My dd is now 6 months and they still send cards even though I do not work with them anymore.

Our babysitter gives DS gifts for every holiday there is, sometimes even for no reason.
We buy her a gift for Christmas ( in addition to $ bonus) And for her birthday.
DS makes her a card/picture for every other bigger occasion: vDay, Women's Day, Easter, when she is sick.

I've been a nanny to the same fam for 5 yrs now... I always received gifts for bday and Xmas but now I also receive for other holidays bc of my dd... They give her vday, Easter treats, special gifts from their vacations, etc. so incredibly thoughtful!!!
