Paying a Babysitter/ Nanny vs. Daycare

Hey ladies,

How much would you say these run (Day/ Week or Month)?

Also, my friend has offered to sit 2-3 work days a week. What is a fair rate per day?

TIA!

A good friend of mine offers a day care in her home (she's a certified Pre-K teacher) and it runs like a day care and a Pre-School as all of her kids (she has 6) have been taught their letters and the sounds and number as well as basic reading skills. She charges $60/day.

This seems really cheap...Is it for a full day or only until 2pm or 3pm like a preschool?

Our DCs were in FT daycare and we paid ~$1200/mo per child and they were there from 8am - 6pm. This worked out to also be $60/day now that I think about the math ($60 a day for 5 days per week is $300 per week x 4 weeks = $1200/mo).

I now WAH and have a sitter come to my house -- she's fantastic and feels like part of our family. We pay her WAY more than $60/day...

I know mine was one of the more expensive centers we looked at. Tutor time was cheapest and I think their rate was $950/mo.

I was actually looking into Tutor Time for DS once I'm ready to go back to work. I heard it was like 50 to 60 per day. I was only going to use them 2 days a week. If I had to pay $950/mo for child care I would probably become a SAHM.

When I first went back to work we had a sitter and paid her $10/hour. Daycare is absolutely less money for full time.

ETA We had DD in the Learning Experience and, at the time, it was around $1100-1200 a month. Part time was not much less.
