spinoff on weight gain
so far I lost 7 due to morning sickness and gained back 3. I am still down 4 and I am 16 weeks preggo. I know some people said they gained 50 plus pounds. What is average anyhow? I am thinking 25-30 but not sure. If I had gained 50 plus I know the comments would never stop.

The "recommended" weight gain for an average size women is btwn 25-35lbs, more if you're underweight, less if you're overweight. I wouldn't stress about the # of lbs as long as the baby is growing fine and you're healthy.

I agree. A friend of mine lost 10 lbs and she's only back up 8 - she's 7 months pregnant. I think as the baby is fine and you're ok, there is no set number.

TO be honest at 31 weeks, I have no idea how much I have gained. I don't look at the scale and I asked the Dr. if was doing ok- he said I was right on target.
I am loving life right now! I dont over indulge, but if there is something I want- I eat.

Same here...I have no idea how much I've gained so far because I don't ask. I'm almost 22 weeks and I feel great.

Don't worry- you will start to begin gaining weight when you hit the 20 week mark. As long as the doctor says you are fine, that is all that matters.

i am 30 weeks and have gained probably close to 50. i am also very swollen and know that a lot of it is water weight.
even with gaining that much already my doctor says everything is fine and he is not worried about my gain.
besides im sure my 40e's have to weigh a decent amount

I am 38 1/2 weeks and I have gained 55 lbs!!!!!! Last appointment, I lost 1 lb and my doctor said to be careful and not make a habit out of it. LMAO!!! I was like, uhh, have you checked out how much i've gained, 1 pound isn't gonna kill me.

i'm 30 weeks and I've only gained 10 pounds. I worried I wasn't gaining enough, but the Dr. said the baby is growing just fine.

I'm 35 weeks and have gained 33 lbs. The weight is very evenly distributed which I'm happy about.

I will find out tomorrow at the doctors how much I have gained, I am 12 weeks now. Last visit at 8 weeks I had gained 6 lbs so we will see!

30 weeks and up 21 lbs!! I'm curious to see hwo the last 10 weeks go with the weight gain. It's all in my belly with the exception of some water weight in my ankles. I felt good tonight at the dr though because the nurse weighed me and said she couldn't believe I weighted only 127 lbs at 30 weeks. I also told her I started at 106 and I'm only 5' tall so anything more than that I think would be too much for 30 weeks. Still made me  though.
