Spinoff: LI Teacher maternity leave through vacation weeks?
what if your FMLA time goes over vacations? I will be out on BOTH winter recess AND easter break!!
will I be paid for that time since those are paid weeks for everyone regardless???
If I weren't on leave, I'd be paid those two weeks, so I'm wondering if I'd still be paid for them while on leave...anyone have experience with this?

If the break falls in the first 6/8 weeks while you are using your sick days then you will be paid for the break and won't use your days during that week.
However, if you are past the 6/8 and using the FMLA then you are not paid.
I just asked my district bec I will be out during Christmas vaca.

OK so then I'll be good for Winter recess but not for easter break...no biggie...
do your sick days have to be all used up by that point? because I think I'll have 19 total days, and only 15 of them lead up to that break **IF** I go out when I think I'll be going out...if I go out earlier then I'll be fine...but if not, about 4 days will be in the winter break...don't know if they hold off on my sick days til the breaks over? or I only get one or the other either way

Your sick days will stop during the vacation and then continue after until there are none left OR the 6/8 weeks are up!
