When did you start inviting your DC's friends to parties? My DS will be 3 in April and we are having a family only party. I figure we will start inviting his friends when he requests it. As of right now, he has never been invited to a party so it doesn't seem to be a thing at our daycare.

Ds has been going to daycare friend parties since he was 2. We do not have parties for him but for his 4th we decided to have a party at announce place. In it's his class and a few other friends.

We didn't do bday parties until she asked for one. That was at 5 in Kindergarten and she invited her classmates.
Prior to that we just had family over for cake

Since 2 years old. I was going to hold off but they started getting invites so I went with it.

If you can hold off do it.

DD 6th birthday party list was 46 kids Chat Icon and that was with me finally having to draw a line (we didn't invite her cheer team)

I will not only invite part of the class I feel bad and its mean to the kids not invited so we invite them all and her K class was 19 kids alone then I have friends and families with kids that we invite. Luckily only 25 RSVP yes Chat Icon

We don't do a whole class invite with DS... but we are lucky as his birthday is in the summer. We do invite 2-3 of his best friends (and their entire families for a BBQ).

DD doesn't really have closest friends yet. She's in preK and when she hits K... we will see.

DS we invited his class to his 3rd (and 4th) birthday.

For DD, I plan on inviting a few of her friends to her 2nd birthday, but I want to keep the party relatively small, so not the whole class. They're still too young to talk about the party, so I think it's ok to only invite some. Next year we'll include the whole class.

We've always invited friends who we are close with and have befriended the families. I invited her whole class to her 4th. If no one else has invited the class I would probably skip it and not give it a second thought unless that's the kind of party you want. Just keep in mind once you start, it gets difficult to stop!

My boys were only invited to one third birthday (between the two of them). Typically, kids don't start having friend parties at our daycare until they are turning 4.

I didn't have friend parties for my kids until they were turning 5. We also did one for Ds 1 when he turned 6.

For DD's 2nd birthday we invited 2 of her daycare friends, but I'm also friends with the moms. For her 3rd birthday we will also invite a few school friends where we are friendly with the families, but certainly not the whole class.

Re: Spinoff: Inviting Daycare/School Friends

Thanks Everyone! I figure he might start asking next year at 4 years old. I am definitely not getting involved in a kids party this year!
