SPINOFF: Are you offended by a fakie?
I mean other than the annoying marketing posters that sign on & try to sell something. If you feel like you got to know someone & then found out they were not who they said they were, would you be hurt or offended? Would you out them on the forums?
I think I might just call them out if they tried to hurt someone intentionally...like a cyber stalker, but other than that I am not sure I would even give it more than an .
Any other thoughts?

I have no tolerance for people who are fake in any regards and I have no problem calling them out on it!

Re: SPINOFF: Are you offended by a fakie?
As much as I would like to say I would out them, I KNOW FIRSTHAND that I am too chicken to do it. Not so much a fakie...just learned someone is not the person I THOUGHT they were. I was and AM hurt and offended, more so than I ever thought I would be.

It depends on if I had become close to them or not, if I shared something personal with them. Or if this happened to someone I care about.

I'm generally amused by fakies. I've never befriended any, so I've never been hurt by one.
The ones who lie about illness to get sympathy are truly disgusting people IMO because they're manipulating people for their own amusement.
But the ones who live in fantasy land - like the one back when I was getting married who was supposedly getting married at the Garden City Hotel and was planning the sickest wedding ever -I get a kick out of those because you can usually tell they're delirious.

no b/c its an internet chat board. If anything I would feel bad that thier life is that sad that they have to make up a fake persona.

I feel the same way. I won't bother calling out someone I think created a "fake persona" unless they are intentionally being hurtful.
For the most part, I assume everyone realizes the person is a BS'er, so I wouldn't bother.

Re: SPINOFF: Are you offended by a fakie?
If I became friendly with the person, I would feel violated.
In some situations, I have been offended by the way that other people handle the fakies.
