I hate:
"Not for nothing" (make no sense!)
"It is what it is" (obvously, otherwise it wouldn't be)
"I tell it like it is" (as if to imply all others are lying)
"Call a spade a spade" (I cringe even writing it - I find it so racist)
I'm sure there are more...
I used to hate when my grandfather said "Fried farts and snowballs"...but now I think it's quirky and cute.

"No offense but......" What if what you say offends me? I can't be offended because you said "no offense" before your offensive statement? My niece says this all the time even when she gives a compliment! "No offense but these brownies are delicious!"

"To be honest". Does that mean that if the person didn't say that then they would be lying to me? Rather than say to be honest I'd rather have somebody say "to be blunt". Otherwise how do I know that they aren't lying when they don't preface something by saying "to be honest".
