spinoff - reglazing tile

I honestly had no idea you could reglaze bathroom tile and the tub... Is it obvious once it's done? Can you really change the color?

What if you have an older tub where some of the "finish" is coming off? Can they reglaze that, too?

Yes, they can reglaze any tub no matter what shape it is in. They can repair cracks, etc. They can reglaze tile.

They mostly reglaze in white. Today I am having a guy come to give an estimate to reglaze all the blue tile in my bathroom to white.

I plan to do it if the price is right.

Re: spinoff - reglazing tile

Well my brother's friend used him, then my brother just had him glaze two tubs (one pink, one green, ugh).

So he is coming today. I will FM you the details and post after it's done.

Did the pink and green tubs go to white?

Whoa. I just checked out their web site. They can do countertops, too? This just may be the answer I was looking for!! Chat Icon

Can they do the floors, too, or would I have to get a new floor?

Re: spinoff - reglazing tile

Yes, this particular guy uses the same white as Kohler. So my bro (and I) got new Kohler toilets and his tubs now match exactly.

This guy also glazes old sinks, toilets, etc.

If I do it, it will be within the next week or two and I will post before and after pics.

So cool. I'm very excited now. I don't think we'll be able to do it immediately, but it looks like possibly in the near future we can have a less pinkish/beigish bathroom. WOOHOO!

Well I don't think they can do floors b/c they would wear faster b/c you walk on them. I have never heard of that.

I just did high quality vinyl tiles in my bathroom to cover up that old blue dated tile. Looks like real tile and is amazing....totally worth it for a low cost spruce up...not for life of course, but they do the job to totally change the look of a bathroom.

Got them at Lowe's. They really look like marble. You just peel and stick.

http://www.armstrong.com/resflram/na/tile/en/us/browse_by_color.asp The ones I got are not on there but they are armstrong and you cannot believe the difference. At least the floor looks and feels clean finally. With the old tiles from the 70s, it never looked or felt clean. Esp the grout.

That's a great idea! I hadn't even thought of that. Thanks!!

It was the thing on the web site saying they could do countertops. Once I learned that, I started to think that this could work for us. (Seriously - ugliest countertop ever...)

Oh wow, those do look nice! What an easy way to spruce the place up, at least for the next couple years!

Re: spinoff - reglazing tile

We did this to save money and time when we were selling our house and updated our main bath. We only did the tub. Overall it was ok but I wouldn't do it again. You have to becareful that nothing drops on it if it has a corner of some sort other wise it will chip. It was worth it to us only because it was less expensive than ripping out the old cast iron tub and installing a new.

We did both of our bathtubs when we moved in last year. Here is a pic of one of the tubs. It was GROSS before. Disgusting old lady crusty stickers on the bottom.Chat Icon
