spinoff ---- How did you know when to stop BFing?
What should I keep in the house in case the time does come that I have to stop suddenly? Should I go buy some formula? I'd hate to waste it though if I never use it...

Well if you pump you can keep a freezer supply if you ever need it. If you want to have formula on hand, it wouldn't be a huge waste to only buy one bottle. It'll last a little while as long as you don't open it.
My advice though, only b/c I'm having trouble with formula right now with my LO....you might have to wean them onto it. DD won't drink it...so I have to very slowly mix it into BM bottles.

With DS1, I had a very hard time pumping so I supplemented a few weeks after going back to work when I ran out of my stash. It took a few different types before I found one he liked (thankfully they were all the samples we had received in the mail from Similac, etc).
With DS2, I EBF the whole time. I had a few sample cans and I think in the year before he started whole milk, he maybe went through one can (in addition to my "stash" in the freezer) for when he had a baby sitter (I am a SAHM now). DS was a NICU baby so I became very proficient in pumping!
