Spinach for baby?
My daughter makes her own baby food my granddaughter. I made some frozen spinach tonite and I'm going to give her some to puree for her. She's 10 1/2 mos old. Is she old enough for spinach? I read on wholesome baby food website something about it having nitrates. Thanks.

Re: Spinach for baby?
Everything I had read said that after 6 months of age, their stomachs had the acid to handle the nitrates in spinach.

DD had spinach around 11 months for the first time and liked it.

Re: Spinach for baby?
I stuck with organic spinach for dd b/c I was concerned about nitrates.
Spinach doesn't puree smoothly in a food processor, and you need a LOT of spinach to puree it in a regular blender. I added a baked fruit (DD loved spinach and pears) or a veggie, like a sweet potato or carrots, and blended it in that way.
Now that she's on finger foods, I make spinach omelets for her and she loves them!
