Ok, I am totally naive. How do I get one? Can we do it online or contact a lawyer? We defintely need one now that we have a child. No house yet, but soon. Should we wait until then to get one?

Go to the link I posted and GET IT DONE!!! Takes all of 5 minutes to fill out the paper work and 2 mins to get it finalized!

I posted on the other thread but I will also post here
This has to be done. I was just married in September and I just did this on Monday! I have a will, living will, power of attorney, health care proxy, and gaurdianship. IT NEEDS TO BE DONE! No matter how little you have. Especially living will and health care proxy.
For example- if something happens to me I dont want to be kept alive by artificial means. I told this to my dad and he said "He would not go by my wishes and will try to keep me alive any possible way". so it is now in writing and DH does not have to go though the fighing and craziness if it happens.
Please do it!!!

That is what happen to me!!! I wish I could drag EVERY LIFER to the lawyers. Not for nothing and I hate to say it but they are dumb if they think it cant happen to them.
