Speech regression in 12 month old

DD was saying ba, ma, da, ya, and wa sounds for the past few months (developing at different times). She would say them all the time and mimic if you said "say dada", etc. The past few weeks, she is only saying ba. Even if prompted playfully, she refuses to make these other sounds.

Should I be worried or is this typical?

All other signs of socialization are very strong (eye contact, interest in others, affect, etc.)

DS2 was talking early and it was weird to me and new bc DS1 had speech delays. He was saying "up" and "down" along with mama and dada around 10 months. Funny thing is he wasn't crawling. When he crawled he wasn't talking as much. I feel like when they start mastering one milestone they kinda push it aside to work on another milestone. Like its hard to juggle everything at once. They also learn new sounds and do if over and over again and then one day stops. I think it's totally normal and she'll be moving onto something else soon and then back to talking again.

That's a good point - she hasn't begun walking yet and it seems like all she wants to do is stand and try to take steps!

This was my DS! He stopped babbling totally from 6 months to 10 months... At his 10 month dr visit I told the dr my concerns and he said that he's too busy learning other things and hitting milestones to talk. He said it's totally normal. The minute I drove home he started talking again and he hasn't stopped since! Lol

normal. my dd said about 6 words besides mama and dada at 12 months. one was the word "up". then she was constantly working on gross motor and all of that dropped. i haven't heard the word up in like 3 months!! and shes gained no new words, only lost. I'm not that worried. when she walks it'll probably all come back plus some.
