Re: special detergent?
Since I'm not a mom yet, I can't say for sure, but I don't think it's necessary. I plan on using a regular detergent - maybe a fragrence free one. The Dreft one seems like sooo much money for no reason - Unless I come to find my baby is having a reaction, then I'll reevaluate.

Re: special detergent?
Since your baby could have sensitive skin, I'd just try to wash the clothes with a detergent that doesn't have dyes or perfumes like All Free and Clear or Tide Free. You don't need to buy Dreft.

Re: special detergent?
I put a bottle or 2 of Dreft on my registry bc I love how it smells but it's so expensive...2 of my cousins who cannot attend actually sent it to me and it's a giant bottle..so that will last me but after that I will probably get one of the free and clear ones.

Re: special detergent?
Dreft is ridiculously expensive so we use All Free & Clear. It's working out just fine!

Re: special detergent?
i will never understand the point of dreft--it HAS fragrance!!! and a strong one at that.
the point of free and clear detergent is for it to be dye and fragrance FREE. i used all or tide free and clear--whatever is on sale. now i wash everything altogether because DS doesn't have allergies. plus it's so expensive.
for #2 i will again use the free and clear, but certainly not dreft.

Re: special detergent?
We use Tide Free and All Free & Clear. We have an HE machine and it can't handle Dreft anyway. CVS had an awesome sale on All Free & Clear this week. I bought the maximum limit

Re: special detergent?
We use All Free & Clear on our clothes now, so that's what I will use for the as well. I used Dreft when my DD was a baby and honestly, it didn't take out a single stain. I hated it! Plus, with All, we can get it in a HUGE bottle for cheap at Sam's Club.
