Spaying

Well I made LuLu her appointment to get spayed. Its the day before thanksgiving since we will have a long weekend off with her. Is there any tips or advice anyone can give to me? I feel so bad doing this but I know in the long run its the best for her. TIA

Re: Spaying

lots of rest for her...not the usual playing...be careful with her jumping and when/if you lift her....she will be ok Chat Icon i hated when my girl went in, i missed her so much and couldn't wait for it to be over...also, watch her stitches to make sure of no infection, etc...

Re: Spaying

I was SOOO worried about it when I had my cats spayed and neutered.
I was literally sick about it for days leading up to it and I cried when I had to drop them off.

I have to say I could not believe how well they handled it. I knew it would be a breeze for the boy- he didn't even have a stitch and acted like nothing ever happened the second we got him home.

But the girl had a bunch of stitches and they told us to make sure she didn't run, jump, get too wild for about a week. Yeah right- good luck trying to keep a kitten to sit still!

She basically acted like nothing happen when we got her home that night. She walked out of the carrier- went to her bowl to eat, walked around the house - all normal. She did lie down and sleep for a bit once she was settled in, but honestly she didn't act like she was in any pain. I was just worried because I would catch her licking the incision sometimes- and I know that's a no- no . And she was trying to run and jump on everything and i was trying to prevent that too. But she was fine
It was harder on me than on her!

Your baby will be just fine!
