Spain...how to plan trip?
So DH & I are heading to Spain in March (yay less than 3 months). we usually do Caribbean/beach vacations where we typically just decide what we'll do each day.
How much advance planning do we need to do for Spain? Barcelona specifically? Do i need to prebook tours? From the limited research i've done we definitely plan on going to Sagrada Familia; but i don't want to prebook that if possible. Rather just decide each day what we feel like doing instead of having a strict schedule to keep to?
I'm going to do some searching around on tripadvisor too. This is new territory for me!

We didnt book ANYTHING in Spain and just did what we wanted to do on our own time.
I really don't think you have to!
Enjoy it - we loved Barcelona!

Thanks!! I just don't want to commit us in advance to what we want to do each day. We'll probably have our laptop with us anyway if we want to purchase tickets for any attractions and not wait on the lines (Sagrada Familia).
We'll just wait and have dinner where the concierge suggests. can't wait! 93 days to go! LOL!

Same, we winged it!
We did the Gaudi thing, walked all along that main road (the name escapes me), shopped like crazy, etc. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Barcelona!

The main road I remember is Las Ramblas. It leads from the center of the city to the Port

No real advance planning needed for Barcelona. Even if you have a timed ticket to go up a spire of Sagrada Familia, you'll still need to wait. They wouldn't let you get on line until the time of your ticket and it was something in the area of a 45 minute wait to get to the elevator.
