DS is 20 months old and DH and I agree that it is time.

He nursed on demand until 15 months. By 18 months, it was just twice a day. Now we are down to just at night. But it's become part of his bedtime routine.

Can I hear success stories? We also co-sleep so I know it's going to be a tough one.

I nursed dd until she was 18 months and I was 12 weeks pregnant and I decided it was just too much for me to do. One night, I nursed her for the last time, and then cried and cried and cried. The next night, I just made sure she had a big enough snack before bed, and then rocked her to sleep without even a mention of nursing. Sometimes when she would see me laying down on my bed (where we usually would nurse) she would ask for it, but I would tell her it was broken and surprisingly, that was good enough! I think it's harder on US than it is on them! Good luck!

I'd like to see the answers. DS is 16 months and has pretty much the same routine. although we aren't ready for weaning just yet, I know the time will come eventually.

good luck!

We stopped at 15 months, and we also co-sleep. It was actually surprisingly easy. We were also down to one session at night only, and I just switched it for a bottle of regular milk. She never asked for it again. If DS asks, try telling him something like there is no more milk left in there - maybe that will work. We stopped the bottles all together by 18 months, and don't need to give her anything now to go to sleep. Good luck!

Thank you for the broken idea. He understands that word.
