Sorry Oliver!
So, the few times we have gone to Vincent;s Clam Bar in Carle Place, we get this waiter, Oliver. A young, good looking, jovial guy - sort of like the waiter in Office Space...
Very excited about our orders, making little jokes - you know, the kind that "works it."
The girls always get excited when we get Oliver - it has become a joke with us because no matter where we are sitting in that huge place, we always seem to get him...
So, we keep calling him by name.
I say to DH, "I like that name Oliver. Lets name our next kid Oliver, so when people ask us where the name comes from, we can say from our favorite waiter at Vincent's."
So, we are yucking it up together about that. Oliver comes bouncing to our table, Oliver happily skips away.
so, as Oliver hands Cailen the check and says, "Here you go, sir (h'yuk H'yuk)" DH drops the bomb to Oliver, thinking he is capable of handling the big joke...
"Hey, Oliver - we decided instead of a boring old tip, we will name our next child after you."
Oliver turns ashen. 
I try to save it by saying, "Oliver Vincent - what do you think? Choose wisely... h'yuk... h'yuk..."
Oliver tells us, "Have a good evening" and runs away from our table so fast, you would have thought we were threatening his life.
And then, until we leave, we get no more jokes, winks, or smiles from Oliver.
Not even eye contact...
DH decided to leave him the tip after all....

I don't think we will get Oliver as a waiter anymore - especially if we come back there with another baby someday....

Maybe he hates his name? Maybe his name caused him some great grief when he was a child? Who knows- but its hilarious that he turned a shade of grey and walked away like that!
Or maybe he just thinks you are wackos? JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!
