FIRST OF ALL CONGRATS!!!!! I still remember you from TTC board- you were coming on there as I was leaving!

Secondly, What to Expect When Expecting has a wonderful diet in its book. I don't follow it since I believe in everything in moderation, but it really is the best diet I found for pregnancy. I try to follow it as best I can but I can't give up sugar- just can't do it.

Re: Sorry for all the questions- New at this

My answers from my 1st trimester are totally different than what they are now in my 2nd. Though I never really got morning sickness (like officially got sick) I was nauseus all the time, had severe food aversions and pretty much just ate what didn't make me want to run away in a different direction. Chat Icon I completely carbo-loaded then cause it was all I could get down really. For breakfast it was bagels or yogurt. Lunch was never anything substantial...usually ginger-ale (which was a godsend with nausea) and maybe fruit, sometimes fruit w/yogurt. Dinner was sometimes pasta..that was about as heavy as dinner got, cereal alot cause the smell of any meat or anything made me want to hurl. Tip: Sour candies helped with the nausea too.

Now I eat anything and everything.......but I'm not a poster child for healthy eating (I'm a crap fanatic), so although most of my "meals" are healthy, my many snacks per day are not.....so I'm not going to divulge my daily menu. Chat Icon

first trimester, just do your best to eat, stay hydrated, and not barf-up your prenatals!

It's also important to eat regularly becuase it minimizes nausea and will prevent hypoglycemia.

See how you feel. Avoid the major things like the high mercury fish, caffeine, cold cuts. Thats what I did and still continue to follow, though now i may have some iced tea everyonce in a while.

It's very hard in the beginning. I always say that if you are feeling nauseous try to eat something it may be low blood sugar. As soon as I ate I would feel better and in the beginning I would have to eat every 2 to 3 hours so I was always snacking on fruit, veggies with dip, etc. I got sooo sick of chicken because thats all I would eat. The baby LOVED pizza in my first Tri so I had a lot of that as well. Then I went to Vanilla Milkshakes. I never really had any cravings. I also in my 2nd trimester ate boars head chicken breast, i read the label and there are no preservatives. So that would mix it up a little bit.

See what you feel like eating and just eat eat eat!! Good luck and congrats!

I eat many of the same things I ate before-- but, I also was very conscious of what I ate in order to get protein, and balance.

Breakfast:
1 cup and a half to 2 cups of Kashi Go Lean cereal with raisins and soy milk. I eat this EVERY day.

Lunch:
Depends-- but most work dats, a sandwich with carrot sticks and a piece of fruit.

I also have been loving soup-- veggie chili, etc.

Snacks:
My standbys are (also rememeber I am a veggie):
Clementines
Kashi Go Lean bars
Zone bars
Organic mozz string cheese (Horizon brand)
Raw almonds
Yo Mommy Yogurt
Greek Yogurt

Dinner:
I tend to eat light dinners, mostly because I don't feel like making anything...

But, I will make myself a pizza on a soy tortilla, soup again, big salad, some pasta, etc.

Congrats!! I have just been trying to eat as healthy as I can. I try to include fruits as snacks and eat a lot of protein. Most of the pregnancy books will tell you generally what to eat - fruirts, veggies, proteins, etc. I'll have a PB&J on whole wheat. I eat a lot of dairy - cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt. Definitely OJ in the morning. I'm also OBSESSED with this all-natural fruit juice sold in the produce section of the supermarkets called Bolthouse. They have tons of flavors. My favorite is Berry Boost.

Re: Sorry for all the questions- New at this

I had some issues with low blood sugar in my second trimester so I did a lot of egg whites with cheese for breakfast. Watermelon when I was feeling like I was retaining water really helped, and I'll be honest way too many bagels. They are my weakness!

For lunch I mostly did chicken of some sort. Grilled chicken breast, chicken cutlets, and once a week I have tuna. I've just now started to enjoy soup which I never liked pre pregnancy, and have only had maybe 2 salads but that would be a good choice.

For dinner we have chicken (I like thighs) pork chops, lamb chops all with big helping of veggies.
