sorry another stupid question about ov
so i am starting the opk and on the instructions it says for a 22 day cycle to start testing on day 5. Now i still had my af on day 5. should i have tested anyway? I tested today and nothing it is day 7. So i guess my question is can you ov when still on your af?

no hon - you shouldn't test when you still have AF...
I would test the first day that you do not need a pantyliner/tampon..
also - it's not a stupid question, those directions have to be for the 'average' woman...

For you, YES I would still test even if I had AF.
The OPK will turn positive 1-2 days before you actually O, so you might get a +OPK on CD 5 (when you still have AF) and then O on CD 7 - which would make for a 21 day cycle.
I think it's definitely more rare of a case, but it's possible! You wouldn't O while you still had AF, but you might get the +OPK since your cycle is so short.

i agree with maybeamommy. you should start testing on Day 5 for such a short cycle. hopefully you did not miss your +OPK. if you have a standard LP of 14 days, then you would O on CD8 for a 22 day cycle. but more than likely, you did not miss it and should be getting it soon. once you have O day pinpointed, this will be much easier next month

you can actually O very shortly after AF is gone...so yes still take them everyday till you get that postiive...even if AF is still around!!

i tested this morning and it was a no. Do you think i missed my shot for this month. the thing is i still had my af last night so i would think i o'd yet. I dont know. if i bd tonight do you think it would work. i hope i didnt miss it this month. On my monthly cycles it says i should ov on thursday so i hope that is true.

i use OPKs and they say to test between 2 and 8 pm. i don't know what kind you are using and it can get expensive but could you test again later today?

Test again tonight - I have a feeling you might get a +OPK tonight (between 2 and 8 PM as Blue mentioned!)

Your cycle is only 22 days though, right?
With a normal LP - you would ovulate on/around CD 8.

You'll get a +OPK 1-2 days before you O. It's different for everyone.
Also, since we don't know how long your LP is, we really can't tell if you could have missed your surge - although it's unlikely.
I'm going to guess that you'll get a +OPK tonight and ovulate tomorrow - just based on your cycle length and assuming you have a normal LP.

YES! You'll want to the day of your +OPK and for 3 days after that!
And these are NOT stupid questions at all!
