SONYMA

I know there have been a few posts about this...but does anyone have someone they can reccomend who can do SONYMA loans?

I work for a mortgage bank, but we do not do SONYMA

I have a call into a lender near me, and I spoke with one person, but I wasn't impressed, since he was treating me as though I didn't know what I was talking about, even after I told him I have been doing mortgages for 10 years...

Any success stories to share?

I recently had a client do a SONYMA loan. I was skeptical, since I've heard mixed things about SONYMA, but it went so smoothly. My client was a crazy researcher - informed himself on every step of the process and probably knew more about the SONYMA program than most mortgage pros do! - and he was very pleased with his lender and loan officer. I know the first bank he spoke to about SONYMA turned him off because he felt like the guy he spoke to wasn't really knowledgeable. The person he wound up using was recommended to him by a friend.

Just based on this one experience with him, I would recommend him. This transaction went quickly and without a hitch (and it was for the purchase of a co-op, which can be more complex).
