Sonos & Insurance
How many sonos have you/will you have during your pregnancy? Im almost 18 weeks and just found out that my Insurace co. will only allow 3 sonos. I have already had way more than 3 sonos so far. I have been getting letters in the mail from my Insurance co. saying that they are denying some of my visits/sonos. From now on I need to get every sono pre certified before I can get the actual sono.
I was just wondering if anyone ever had their insurance co. deny any sono's or visits? Did you have to end up paying for them out of pocket? If yes, how much ? Im afraid of getting huge bills. TIA !

Re: Sonos & Insurance
My insurance covers 4 sonos. Anything after 4 my dr will have to get approvals before doing the sono. Your dr office didn't tell you that? I always get a reminder when I go in for the Level 1 and 2 sonos because those are the big ones. Also, my dr doesn't bill for the sonos in the office. It's part of my office visits. I haven't gone over 4 yet. Your dr's office should be on top of this. You shouldn't have to pay. Ask them to get an approval and see if they can back date it.

Re: Sonos & Insurance
My office usually only does 3 - an initial one, the ultrascreen and the level 2 (with the latter two being done at the hospital or another facility).
I had three in the office due to spotting and then my Ultrascreen and Level 2. If they think the baby is breech at 36 weeks, I will have another one as well.
Can you have your Drs office resubmit them as medically necessary?

Re: Sonos & Insurance
hmm, never even thought about it. I have had way more than 3 already and I'm only 8.5 weeks. Now I wonder if I should call the insurance or just talk to the dr. about it .
