some questions

Hi Ladies,
DH and I have been TTC (or not preventing anything) beginning this month. I have a few questions for you...

First, I went to the doctor the other day and she gave me prenatal vitamin samples. I didn't ask any questions then, but of course when I got home I thought of some. Does it matter when I take them? Do I take them with food? One kind - citrical - has two pills. Do I take them at the same time? =)

Second, since I went off the pill in December, I've been very irregular. I started charting my temp this cycle and I'm on day 17. i THINK i might have ovulated yesterday. If we BD'd on Saturday, is there any chance we would have been successful, or was that too early?

TAI, ladies!

Re: some questions

I was told to take the vitamins with food.

If you ovulated yesterday Saturday might have been too early.

Good Luck!

Re: some questions

my RX says on the bottle, take 1 hour prior to meal, or 2-3 hours after. If stomach upset occurs, take with a small meal.

Re: some questions

I take Citrical. The samples she gave you are probably Citrical plus DHA or something like that right? My doctor told me that the gelly looking pill is actually "baby brain food". I dont think that you really need to take that one until you are actually pregnant. As with any vitamin, i think that it is best to take them in the evening when you have something in your stomach. You do not need to take Citrical with food but i think it is preferable.

If you ovulated yesterday and BD'd on Saturday, there is a very small chance that the sperm would have survived that long, but it is possible.

Good luck!

Re: some questions

Well you mean that you O'd Saturday, and BD'd Tuesday, so that's not SUCH a stretch. But probably not the best odds.

Thanks for all the info ladies! lululu, the info about the citrical was especially helpful - that's what the sample is, the vitamin plus DHA for the baby. So I'll save that one till I'm actually pregnant, hopefully!

I have two more questions....

Where do you guys buy your prenatals?

I've heard that they make some with a stool softener, but I haven't been able to find any. Can anyone recommend a brand?

THANKS!!!
