"Sold" Sign

I know this is dumb, but we are closing on our house next week and my agent just told me that if the seller's agent hasn't put the "sold" sign out by now, it won't be going up and the For Sale sign will just come down. We wanted some photo ops in front of the sold sign and house. Chat Icon

Re: "Sold" Sign

We never had a "Sold" sign either. I know it's not the same, but make a Sold sign and have you and your SO/DH hold it in front of the house for a pic. I had even thought of taking a pic of my DH opening the door with the key for the first time after closing but the previous homeowner had the door open as he had everything in the garage and was packing up all of the last bits and pieces. So no pics.

Re: "Sold" Sign

I just got to take a pic of the "under contract one". I was going crzy before closing to even think of the "sold sign". Yes it would have been cool to take a pic of for sure

Re: "Sold" Sign

That stinks. Our house didn't even have a for sale sign up so we didn't get a picture either, I understand your disappointment!

can you ask your agent to "borrow" one of her sold signs after you move in for the photo-op? I know its probably not the same realty company, but who cares if you really want the pic. Nobody but you will knowChat Icon

Re: "Sold" Sign

The houses in our area don't ever have even for sale signs! Didn't know they still did this!

Re: "Sold" Sign

We close on our house for 3 weeks already and been living there for 3 weeks we moved in the day after closing but we never had a "close sign" either we had an "under contract" sign but right after closing we rushed back into our new house to drop somethings off and literrally after 5 minutes of being there the sign removal guy from the seller's realty company came with his truck and a bucket of dirt to remove the sign and covered the whole with the dirt! I honestly don't think they put the "sold" sign anymore I haven't seen them! Good luck is such an excited process!!!

Re: "Sold" Sign

Thanks everyone. I got a little feisty with our agent and she said she would make sure the sign was there. The house right next door also recently sold and they have a "sold" sign up, so I know this is still done. Such a petty issue, but such a simple thing for the agent to do to make her clients happy.
