Flood Watch and Tropical Storm Watch Posted for Long Island.

Mostly sunny skies, it will be warm and humid with high 78-85. Rip currents along the south shore today as we track Hanna.

Time-line
10pm Friday to 6am Saturday - Rain showers with periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms
6am to 6pm Saturday - Periods of rain, heavy at times with thunderstorms. Coastal flooding and beach erosion a major problem during high tide, which is from noon to 5pm around the island. Winds gusts to 40 mph at this point. Some power outages likely.

6pm Saturday to 4am Sunday This is the worst part of the storm for Long Island. Winds gusts to 60mph. Rain, heavy at times with thunderstorms. Street Flooding, Flight delays and power outages likely. Some "tornadoes" are possible as the storm moves away from LI. High tide is between Midnight and 5am Sunday and this will lead to a second round of coastal flooding and beach erosion.
4am to Noon on Sunday - Wind and rain starts to taper from South to the North. A few leftover rain showers through 10am and skies will start to clear into the afternoon.
Cloudy for Tonight with showers and thunderstorms developing after 10pm ahead of Hanna. Some of the rain will be heavy at times towards Saturday morning. Strong winds and heavy rain on Saturday as Hanna moves over and East of Long Island. We could see 3 to 6 inches of Rain and sustained winds at 20-40 mph with wind gusts to 60 mph. High tide Saturday afternoon and Sunday Morning will cause Coastal Flooding and beach erosion. Temperatures will be in the 70s. Saturday night we will have periods of heavy rain and strong winds. Lows in the 60s to low 70s. The rain will taper off by 10am Sunday and the rest of the day will be breezy with a mix of Sun and clouds and highs around 80.
