What's SO funny is that the parents I grew up with no longer exist!!! They were pretty strict (curfews, time limit on phone calls, grounded for weeks on end sometimes....)...

NOW..... it's like a free for all at my parents house!! The youngest of the 5 of us just graduated today (there is a 12 year difference between me & her! My baby!!) and all I have to say is this......I certainly DID NOT have an ice luge & midgets at MY graduation party!!!!!

Re: So were your parents lenient or strict?

both were strict. I was grounded a lot. Even though they were strict and I was scared of them, I still was into staying out late. I knew they could not kill me, just yell, sometimes hit, and make me do extra chores.

They always wanted me to break up with DH. He wasn't allowed to call my house, they weren't keen on the teenage boyfriend thing at all.

Re: So were your parents lenient or strict?

My parents were SOOO strict! I was a good kid too.
Here is just a taste of the crap they put me through:
I wasn't allowed a TV in my room until Jr. year of HS.
My dad used to set an egg timer for when I used the phone- when it dinged.. I was off the phone. I used to have to pay the phone bill for all my calls.
My cerfew was 11:00 until I left for college.
I wasn't allowed to get my license until I was in my Senior year and I wasn't allowed to have a car until I graduated HS.

I could go on and on and on... Chat Icon
