So, we had our first parent-teacher conference

It was so sweet. One of her teachers, who came a few months late into the class, who happens to be Israeli, started crying when she talked about Alex. She told me that on her first day in class, the first toddler she noticed was Alex - that she was running around with so much energy, laughing, and had such a tremendous spirit to her and she thought to herself, there's a kid with a spark, she's going places! And then she started tearing up and literally crying!

So, they basically told me that she (1) has the most tremendous sense of humor they've ever seen in a toddler, (2) is the most nurturing little kid, running around with tissues to wipe everyone's noses, and (3) SHE KNOWS WHAT SHE WANTS and has no fear in telling you that

And then, Kandy, her teacher, turned to me and said, I have to ask a weird question - are there any lawyers in your family? I was like, um, yes, myself and my father. They both started laughing and said that Alex will be following in my footsteps. They said that she really has a keen understanding of right from wrong, not just for herself, but for everyone in class, and that she keeps tabs on who has had their snack, whose turn it is to play with a certain toy, etc.

Oh Boy watch out!!!! I have one like that to. I swear the first words out of her mouth were "this isn't fair." At 5, she now explains to me that it is also inequitable. I feel sorry for the teachers who have to deal with these girls.

Aww, and you say she takes after your husband! Sounds like she's the perfect combo of both mom and dad.

I have never met Alex, but I have to say from everything I have read and seen from her pictures, and videos, that it is clear you have quite the interesting little person in your life - and I know she will always be the best at whatever she decides to do!!!
