So upset...I hate this swine flu cr@p

Last week one of my bosses was sent home from work because his daughter was diagnosed with swine flu...then, the head of our group was sent home cause his kids had the flu...

Now it's gotten worse...I just found out that dh's boss' son has it...DH works really close with her, and of course like an idiot, she is at work today (she found out at work that he has it, BUT, she left work early yesterday because he had a 103 fever...who comes into work when you have the ability to work from home when your kid has a fever like that and there is this big old virus flying around????) So now, we don't know what to do...DH doesn't even know if he should be around me for a few days...I'm calling my dr to find out, but I'm so upset...can't stop crying (thanks to those 36 week pregnant hormones!)...I just can't imagine him not being around me for a few days when we have so much stuff to do...And, I have my 36 week appt tomorrow...we were both looking forward to that...

Just so sad right now...had to vent...

If you are really worried about getting it, you can disinfect your home, that will make it less likely. I also have an article I can send you about boosting your immunity if you want I can PM it to you. It all about the different homeopathic ways to treat and boost your health. Let me know.


I also wanted to add that my DH has a fellow classmate who came down with the swine flu, whom he was in close contact with, AND he goes to the same school where they are doing most of the testing on the H1N1 virus, and so far he nor I have gotten it :knock on wood:. And we have not received the vaccine either.

This really pisses me off. I think that things like stomach viruses, flu, etc.. spread like wild fire b/c people are irresponsible. If your sick stay home. It is just the right thing to do. It drives me crazy. I dread going anywhere in public b/c I feel like ppl are coughing all over me. A man coughed in my face last night at the supermarket, he didn't even cover his mouth. I had to drag DH away before he told the guy off.

I completely understand you being upset. I hope the Dr. says your DH can still be near you & give you the comfort you need and get the things done you both want to do.

This is my argument, and I know people don't agree and I wish this was implemented-if you are sick, stay home. I would love to cover for you if it means me not getting sick. I don't think someone deserves a medal for showing up to work sick!

people can be so frustrating at times!!!!

does he feel like he's coming down with anything yet?

try to disinfect everything and just try to wash your hands often/not touch your faces etc. and hope for the best. make sure you both rest, boost his immune system etc.

ETA - i heard my boss say yesterday he felt like he was coming down with the flu...and of course he's still at work. i havent told work yet...and im OMG. ive turned into a major germaphobe!

I agree, disinfect and and keep your hands/face clean..etc.

Also, call your OB, they can prescribe some antivirals you can take at the first sign of being sick. Have them on hand just in case.

About 2 weeks ago Dh thought he might have had it too. Well after talking to my ob and our family dr. We both decided that he would remain in the gues room while i was home and not to be in direct contact with me. It was a hard few days but it was better to be safe. I lysoled and bleached the house several times. Luckily the dr did some swabs and the came back negative.

My Ob also said at any point in time i dont feel well to call asap, so they can give me something. Just keep washing your hands, dont rub your eyes and stuff like that
