SO upset right now
DH is so upset at me for failing the GD test. It's horrible. What can I do?

He thinks it's my addiction to baked goods this pregnancy. I showed him some stuff from the internet, but he's not dealing with this well. I've been crying uncontrollably. Now he's left for the night because he has a sleep study. This has been the worst day ever.

I just can't stop crying. It was such a horrible day, then to top it off with this has put me over the edge. He's been a great guy throughout all of this, so for him to turn like this with 1 month left really leaves me speechless.

Its not you sweetie. I get accuchecks done daily and sometimes my numbers are low and once I was really high-the clincher is I barely take in real food and my TPN never changes so its all the way your body processes sugar.
DH will come around. I bet he is just worried.

I have GD and my endocronologist told me that it's not what I was eating but the way my body is reacting to the pregnancy hormones. Your DH has no right to be mad at you

its really so unfair for him to be upset with you. honestly, when i failed the 1 hr DH got annoyed with me also. it was very frustrating.
i swear, i wish DH could be PG for just one day...

Tell him it's not your fault, it's your placenta's fault.
Tell him he can be mad at the placenta and yell at it when it's out but has to be nice to you while it takes over your body.

I failed my 1 hour really really bad too!!! AND I have followed the GD diet throughout my pregnancy.....I then passed the 3 hour..My fasting level, 2 hour level, & 3 hour level were all within the normal range...my 1 hour level was still high...I have continued to pretty much follow the diet (although I do cheat occassionally it is rare!)...my baby is on the large size too...apparently I just have big children..

Like everyone else said - YOU didn't fail the 1 hour - YOUR BODY failed it. It has nothing to do with you -and he needs to understand that!!
Maybe he's not really upset about the glucose test though - maybe he's nervous about the new baby coming soon (who wouldn't be?) and this is how he's getting his frustration out?
Not that I'm defending his actions, becuase he's clearly wrong here, but there could be something else behind it.

Totally on your side on this one... but...
could it be that he is just nervous? My DH has said and done very stupid things throughout this pregnancy and what I have realized is that he is trying not to show that he is scared for the baby and me so he gets stupid!!!
(We can still kick his butt thought!!!)

My dh is the same way with me about the preeclampsia and salt intake. My obgyn finally said something to him at my urging that this is unfortunately the way my body reacts to salt. Could you have your obgyn explain that this is the way your body reacts to sugar/carbs? It is not your fault. I am sorry you have to go through this with a month left but on the bright side it is only a month. You can do it.

Kelly are you sure that is what he is upset about?? Could it be all the stress BOTH of you have been under with the flood, the non-working toilet, the closing on the new house constantly being changed etc???? Maybe this is just something to fixate on??
I realize picking on you isn't the best way to handle it, but maybe it is just one more thing on a pile of sh@t, and he is chosing this to focus on rather than all the other things.
