So upset
I have been have back/hip pain for 19 months after a nasty fall. Been to 9 different docs and nobody got it figured out. Finally found a really good doc and found out today I need a hip replacement. I can't even believe it. I am 39 and this is so terrible. Sorry just needed to cry a bit.

Ugh that's terrible. I am so sorry.
Just so you know, my BILhad a double hip replacement at around 45 years old. He did awesome with it, and has no pain at all anymore. Best thing he ever did.
I know it's very scary but just wanted you to know of a really good outcome...his recovery went really well too.

I'm so sorry. You'll feel so much better. My cousin recently had it done and he was also very young in his early 40s.

I imagine it's scary but think of the relief you will have after.

It's scary, but you will feel so much better afterwards. It is truly life changing.
I had a double knee replacement last October 1st, a few weeks shy of my 49th birthday. I knew it was coming eventually, just thought I would be a bit older.
I'm not going to lie, it was a long and tough recovery, PT was downright painful at times because I pushed myself hard.
But so damn worth it because now I can walk again without pain.
Please trust me, you will be fine afterwards.

i know how scary surgery can be.
i'm sorry this is happening to you.
but i'm going to add to the list of knowing someone really young having it done and it being the best thing.
ps. didn't lara spencer from good morning america just have this... and i think i'm older than she is (i'm 43)

My dad just had a hip replacement (as did my DH's uncle) and they both said the recovery was a breeze and they felt better literally the next day...they were able to walk better immediately after surgery than they were prior. It'll be life changing for you and since you're younger than the average patient, I would think recovery would be even easier for you!
